Consultant-led sleep apnoea care in a CQC-registered hospital setting.
About the clinic
The London Sleep Apnoea Clinic is a consultant-led service. Our specialists assess, diagnose and manage sleep apnoea within CQC-registered hospitals and clinics across London. Home sleep-study kits (WatchPat devices) are posted and collected by Zoll Medical UK, and CPAP equipment and therapy are supplied and serviced by our clinical partner Dolby Vivisol UK — one of the country's most established providers of respiratory and CPAP therapy — both under our clinical direction.
Our consultants combine extensive NHS practice experience with a clear focus on one thing: helping you to sleep — and live — better. From assessment and diagnosis through to prescribing and reviewing your therapy, a GMC-registered consultant oversees your care at every step.
We focus exclusively on sleep breathing disorders and CPAP therapy.
An experienced consultant physician always oversees your care.
Personalised plans, clear communication and ongoing support.
Our approach
We are committed to making private healthcare for sleep apnoea affordable and accessible to all with no hidden costs.
Our unique pathway allows you to undergo home-based sleep testing before your specialist clinic appointment. This allows for informed and shared decision-making with a personalised treatment plan from the start.
Our pricing is transparent with no hidden costs, and we have a variety of packages to suit every need. If you do decide to try CPAP, we offer a no-obligation 90-day trial of treatment.
Your care will be delivered by a team of consultants with a wealth of clinical experience in supporting patients with sleep apnoea and other sleep-disordered breathing conditions. They hold substantive NHS posts delivering regional specialist sleep apnoea care at a Central London hospital and are research-active within the field of sleep and respiratory medicine.
Condition overview
Sleep apnoea is a common sleep condition believed to affect 5% of adults in the UK and almost one billion people worldwide. It occurs when the throat temporarily closes during sleep, causing breathing to repeatedly stop and start throughout the night. Each time this happens, the body briefly wakes itself up to reopen the airway, leading to disrupted and fragmented sleep, often without the person realising it.
Sleep apnoea can also affect partners due to loud snoring and disturbed sleep.
Why it matters
Untreated sleep apnoea can have a significant impact on both quality of life and long-term health. Poor, fragmented sleep can lead to excessive daytime sleepiness, reduced concentration, low mood, and ongoing fatigue. Loud snoring and disrupted sleep may also affect partners and family members.
Sleep study
Sleep apnoea is accurately diagnosed through a combination of a detailed medical history, clinical examination and a sleep study.
The sleep study consists of portable equipment that you wear in the comfort of your own bed, usually for one night. The London Sleep Apnoea Clinic uses a 'WatchPat' sleep study device which consists of a wrist-watch, finger probe and chest sensor.
The device will be sent to your home address, fully programmed for your personal use and with a set of clear instructions. You wear the equipment overnight and simply remove it the following morning. The device can then be sent back using the return packaging provided.
How we help
Treatment for sleep apnoea focuses on improving breathing during sleep and reducing long-term health risks. Depending on the individual, treatment may include:
CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) therapy is one of the most effective treatments for sleep apnoea.
It works by gently increasing air pressure at the back of the throat to help keep the airway open during sleep. This prevents repeated airway collapse, improves sleep quality, reduces daytime symptoms, and may help lower the risk of long-term health complications associated with untreated sleep apnoea.
CPAP isn't right for everyone. If, after consultation, you and your specialist feel CPAP isn't the best fit, we can arrange onward referrals for alternative treatments — including mandibular advancement devices (mouthguards), and other options tailored to your case.
Where to find us
We see patients exclusively at CQC-registered hospitals and clinics across London. All assessment, diagnosis and treatment decisions are made by GMC-registered consultants under each hospital's own registration; home sleep-study kits are provided by Zoll Medical UK and CPAP equipment by our clinical partner, Dolby Vivisol.
Our regulatory position. The London Sleep Apnoea Clinic is a consultant-led service and is not itself registered with the Care Quality Commission. All regulated clinical activity — consultation, diagnosis and treatment — is carried out by GMC-registered consultants under the practising privileges of the host hospital, which holds its own CQC registration. Home sleep-study kits are provided by Zoll Medical UK and CPAP equipment by Dolby Vivisol, each regulated in their own right.
