1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of thelondonsleepapnoeaclinic.co.uk and any consultations, sleep studies or therapy services you book with us. By making a booking you confirm you have read and agree to them.
The London Sleep Apnoea Clinic
Suite RA01, 195–197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU
Email: referrals@drnikeshdevani.co.uk
2. Scope of our service
We are a specialist consultant-led clinic focused on the assessment, diagnosis and management of sleep apnoea. All clinical care is delivered by GMC-registered consultants in CQC-registered partner hospitals, currently The Wellington Hospital and Chase Lodge Hospital. The London Sleep Apnoea Clinic is not itself registered with the Care Quality Commission: all regulated clinical activity is carried out by our consultants under the practising privileges of the host hospital, which holds its own CQC registration.
We are responsible for: clinical assessment, interpretation of your sleep study and issuing your diagnostic report, prescribing treatment, mask fitting and therapy initiation in clinic, and follow-up review.
Our clinical partners are responsible for: the supply, delivery, servicing and return of equipment. Home sleep-study kits are posted, supported and collected by Zoll Medical UK (WatchPat devices). CPAP equipment and ongoing therapy are supplied and serviced by Dolby Vivisol under their own service agreement, billed by them at their published rate, and you contract with them directly for that supply. We do not supply, hire out or bill for equipment ourselves.
Where CPAP is not the right option for you, we can arrange onward referrals for alternative treatments such as mandibular advancement devices (mouthguards) or ENT review.
3. Booking & payment
- Packages and prices are as shown on our Packages page and are confirmed at the point of booking.
- Self-pay fees are settled with the host hospital or in clinic; we do not take card payments through this website. A receipt is issued when payment is taken.
- Insurance bookings are not charged at the point of booking. You are responsible for obtaining pre-authorisation from your insurer; any shortfall, excess or uncovered fees may be billed to you directly.
- To enable your appointment, your name, date of birth and contact details are shared with the host hospital (The Wellington Hospital or Chase Lodge Hospital) so they can process your admission. You give this consent during booking.
4. Patient obligations
- Provide accurate identity, contact and medical information.
- Arrive on time and bring any relevant medications, prior reports and devices.
- Follow clinical advice given by your specialist and the host hospital.
- Return any loaned sleep-study or CPAP equipment in working condition by the date we ask you to.
- If you have a clinic or staff login, keep your credentials confidential and do not share them.
5. Cancellation, rescheduling & refunds
- More than 24 hours before your appointment: you can cancel for a full refund (self-pay) or reschedule free of charge using the link in your confirmation email.
- Less than 24 hours before your appointment, or non-attendance: the full appointment fee is charged and no refund is due.
- Insurance bookings: the same 24-hour notice period applies. Missed-appointment fees may be billed to you directly if your insurer does not cover them.
- Equipment: a replacement fee may apply for sleep-study or CPAP equipment that is returned damaged or not returned.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you will be offered the next suitable slot or a full refund.
6. Medical disclaimers
Information on this website is general in nature and is not a substitute for individual clinical advice from your treating specialist. We do not provide an out-of-hours or emergency service. In a medical emergency, call 999 or attend your nearest A&E.
7. Liability
We will provide our services with reasonable skill and care. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Subject to the above, our total liability arising in connection with these Terms is limited to the fees you have paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, including loss of profits, opportunity, data or anticipated savings.
8. Privacy & data
How we handle your personal and health data is set out in our Privacy Policy, and the cookies we use are described in our Cookie Policy.
9. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at referrals@drnikeshdevani.co.uk so we can put it right.
If you are not satisfied, or you would prefer to raise it elsewhere, you can also contact:
- The host hospital (The Wellington Hospital or Chase Lodge Hospital) — as the CQC-registered provider of the premises and regulated activity, it operates its own complaints procedure.
- The Care Quality Commission — in relation to the registered hospital where your care took place. We are not registered with the CQC ourselves.
- The General Medical Council — for concerns about an individual doctor's fitness to practise.
- The Information Commissioner's Office — for data-protection complaints. Our Data Protection Officer is Dr Nikesh Devani.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies to your booking, with the last-updated date shown above.
11. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
