About Saigal

Dr Saigal qualified in medicine from the University of Southampton in 2009 (BM Medicine, BSc Biomedical Sciences) and completed her specialist training in respiratory and general medicine across the North Central and East London deanery. She undertook postgraduate MD research with University College London into the role of High Flow Nasal Therapy in chronic respiratory disease, alongside a clinical fellowship supporting Post-COVID patients that was recognised in the BMA Leadership Awards.

She was appointed Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital in 2024. Her specialist interests include sleep-disordered breathing, respiratory failure and the management of chronic breathlessness, and she cares for patients with a broad range of respiratory and general medical problems.

Dr Saigal is a member of the British Thoracic Society Sleep Advisory Group and BTS committee, contributing to the national clinical statement on High Flow Nasal Therapy. She is the UCL Year 4 Undergraduate Respiratory Lead and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, with a particular focus on patient-orientated research that improves service delivery throughout the care journey.
